Character Builder 5

Character Builder 5 gives you the possibility of creating your own Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) character from scratch. It places all the customization options you need at your disposal, to make up a variation of an existing hero class or come up with a completely new one. You can print out a D&D 5th Edition character sheet, and use it in the game, but you can also continue to use the software to keep track of character's progression.

You can have the application up and running in just a few seconds because you only need to download a ZIP archive, extract its contents and run an executable. It works on all modern Windows platforms, and it doesn't ask for any special tools or drivers. Also, you don't have to give up too many resources to run it.

You can tweak all aspects of your character, from name to inventory items, on separate tabs. If you go through these tabs in order, you will see that the entire process feels like creating a new character in a role-playing video game (RPG). You may choose between different races and classes, and assign points to the usual abilities, like strength, dexterity, constitution and so on. If you intend to build a spellcaster, you can jump to other tabs to choose between spells, as well as forms and summons, depending on what kind of spellcaster you want to create.

The stat points you assign, along with other details, are displayed at all times on the left edge of the user interface, so you will always remember what character build you're going for. When you're satisfied with your character, you can export everything in a D&D character sheet, in PDF format, which you can print. What's more, if you have a computer or a mobile phone handy, you can use the software while playing Dungeons and Dragons. You can add journal entries, manage your inventory and buy new gear. The software lets you evolve your character to the maximum level, after which you will be able to load up a fresh and unaltered version of your custom hero, to play another game of Dungeons and Dragons.
